The future is approaching: the skills of 2025?

To anticipate the challenges and opportunities we will face going forward, the World Economic Forum has compiled a list of 10 essential skills for an unpredictable future. Anticipating a rapidly changing world of work, the team of specialists outlined a perspective on the demands of the global market, on the employability of people or the success of entrepreneurs. 

These changes in the global labor market will require people to have increasingly diverse skills.

1. Troubleshooting: This category is the most extensive, as it contains five of the most important skills in 2025: analytical thinking and innovation, complex problem solving, analysis, creativity, originality and initiative, and finally, reasoning. The ability to solve complex problems and think analytically is not something that people are born with, but rather it is a skill that we develop as we progress in our careers. Problem solving also requires creativity, initiative and originality. Having a creative and original approach helps us drive innovation and look at problems with an open and flexible mind.

2. Self-management: Self-management is a category that contains the skill of resilience, stress tolerance and flexibility, all of which are necessary to maintain a positive mind even when things get difficult or when we are faced with unexpected situations. Also in this category, we can place active learning, quick adaptation to new situations and perseverance.

3. Working with people: According to the World Economic Forum's list, another skill considered very important in the near future is leadership and social influence. Regardless of the job we choose to do, we are constantly connecting and collaborating with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders. To do this successfully, transversal skills such as empathy, conflict resolution, communication and decision-making are vital.

4. Use and development of technology: Last but not least, the skills to use, monitor and control technology, as well as to design and program technology will play a huge role in the future of any field.

We can't predict exactly what the future will look like, but we can certainly outline some general guidelines and prepare for it. The field of education plays an essential role in ensuring the training of new generations, and specialists point out the importance of starting the development of these skills, from an early age.
