Modern Dad's Challenges, edition 11: The challenges of modern parenting

When we say "modern parenting" an amalgam of things and thoughts related to the child's growth and development comes to mind. "Modern parenting" is often seen as a race, which parents try to finish with the best possible results and in which they aim to provide the child with the most complex experiences and a beautiful and balanced life. And as the races are by their nature full of challenges, we will talk about them, in detail, at Modern Dad's Challenges, 11th edition.

On November 14, from 18:30, at Hotel International, fathers and future fathers are waiting for a new edition of Modern Dad's Challenges, on the theme "The challenges of modern parenting". They are with us Bogdan Ion, founding president of the Romanian Association of Short Therapies Oriented on Resources and Solutions; Ioana Agachi, Psychotherapist, managing partner Me, squeamish parent, Andrei Tudose, Founder of the Delivering Life Association and Alex ZAMFIR, Blogger & Radio Producer, as moderator.

The 3 topics we develop together with our guests are:

• Parenting styles & managing emotions in the relationship with the child
• Single parent and the implications on the child
• The couple's relationship and how do we make time for ourselves?

The parenting style leaves its mark on the way our child develops and evolves. The predominant behaviors that we show in the relationship with the little one define their personality and have implications on the child's performance. What style we adopt in the parent-child relationship and how good it is to have "good cop/bad cop" in the modern family we will tell in detail on November 14, together with the specialist Bogdan Ion. And since assuming a certain parenting style comes with many challenges that we, the parents, have to face and that can generate many frustrations and emotions (positive or not), it is good to learn to manage them properly so that we do not have regrets in the future and do not have any effects on the child.

We then move on to a more delicate subject: the single parent. In a context of events, we can end up in the situation of a single parent, and here we refer to a divorced parent, a widower, with a partner who has gone to work in another country or locality, or a parent who raises his child alone due to the non-involvement of the other partner. In the situations described above, it can be any of us, and the effects are felt both by the adult and the child. We talk to psychotherapist Ioana Agachi about these effects and how to explain to the little one the absence of a parent or a close person in their life.

And because even though we are modern parents, we must not forget the couple's relationship, we end the evening with a discussion about how we make time for ourselves, when x + y becomes x + y + z, etc. "In every woman there is exactly that woman you want. The question is: how do you get to it?". We will find out the answer to this question following the social experiment launched by Andrei Tudose at the event. At the end, the participants will discover what resonates in the man in them with the desired woman. J
