Why do so much homework?!
Children's school life is full of opportunities for learning, growth and socialization, but it also includes many challenges. The desire of parents and responsible adults to offer them more and more complex contexts of development comes with a series of direct benefits on children's schooling, but also with a load on students' schedules. Homework assignments are the perfect opportunity to practice new skills learned in class, refresh their knowledge and are an important part of children's educational journey. However, when homework causes frustration and leads to feeling overwhelmed and overworked, it can have a negative impact on a child's ability to focus and retain information.
Specialists point out the importance of homework exercises, but encourage approaching them with the right mentality so that students understand their role and organize themselves effectively. Here are some tips to help little ones build a healthy rhythm of homework and projects.
Time management skills are essential
Time management is important to avoid homework stress. Planning the time kids need to do their homework or projects can make what seems like an overwhelming task a lot less stressful. It is valuable for students to set aside a specific time, early in the morning, in the afternoon, each day, according to the school schedule, to work on homework. Use a school calendar or planner to highlight project deadlines and help little ones get better organized.
Find a suitable place to study
Solving homework in a suitable workspace can increase productivity and automatically lead to better performance. Studying in an uncomfortable position, in a crowded and noisy space, or surrounded by digital devices are obstacles to completing projects in an efficient time.
Rest: The secret element to achieving performance
Lack of rest leads to low productivity and energy. Children need quality sleep for harmonious development and to reach their potential. In children's timetable, school activities must be balanced with recreational activities, outdoor activities with family and friends.
Healthy food for healthy body
There is a proven link between what we eat and how well our brain works. Memory, learning ability and emotional states are influenced by the foods we choose to eat, and to perform at our best we need a healthy diet.
By learning how to manage the volume of homework, exercises and projects, approaching them with confidence and enthusiasm, the child will develop better study habits and achieve achievement.
