Delicious homemade snacks for the winter holidays
The winter holiday season is one full of magic and excitement and we want to spend quality time with our loved ones, tell stories and get emotional together. It is valuable to involve the little ones in the Christmas preparations and to increase their autonomy through different activities.
To help our family stay happy and healthy this festive season, here are some nutritious Christmas snacks that kids can make right at home.
Fruit Santa Claus
Kids will love these easy Santas made with strawberries, bananas, ricotta cheese (or yogurt) for a beard, and black frosting for eyes.
All we have to do is wash the strawberries and remove the leaves before cutting them in half. The base (pointed end) is used for Santa's hat and the other half forms the foundation, so we'll need to cut this part again to make sure it's flat.
After we place the flat sides of the strawberries on a tray, the children place ricotta cheese or yogurt on top to represent the beard. Next, we cut the bananas into pieces to create the face and place it on top of the strawberry pieces. The recipe can be accessed here, and the final product is delicious, easy to make and very cute looking.
