Tell us more about yourself. Who is Mia Barc?
I love sports, marketing, time spent with family, children, books, hiking, movies and friends, in any order. And from their combination, writing was born.
The "Secrets of a young businessman" series, of which only the first volume "green apples and reds" was printed, started after a lot of schooling and experience in the field of marketing.
How did you come up with the idea to write an entrepreneurial education book for children?
From the dialogues with my child, I realized that even around them, even being small, there is a lot of commerce, in all the forms in which it can manifest itself. The book teaches children to filter marketing messages, showing them their commercial motivation and to logically explain things that happen and affect them in one way or another.
Why apples and not pears?
For the book, apples are just a subject, a pretext. The business idea can be any, the information remains perfectly valid. However, for Ral, the main character of the book, apple juice is his favorite, it is his business choice.
How would you describe Ral? Why do you think the little ones identify with him?
Ral is a curious child, like all children, and he wants to assert himself. Throughout the book, he goes through funny incidents, which he searches for himself or which find him open to mischief. Learn to open a business.
What should children remember after reading this book? What about the parents?
The book is full of information that you often don't even recognize as such because it gets mixed up in stories and events. That's why they hold back easily.
In the end, the pleasure of reading is important, the smiles the book brings.
Parents can remember our motto: learning can be fun!
How do you think your book can help children and parents during this difficult time for everyone?
I think that this period demands a different thing from each and everyone of us. The little ones will find a funny and energetic refuge in the story.
Parents are satisfied because new and perhaps even dry things for a 9-12-year-old child are understood and retained without any effort, even with pleasure.
Describe our book in three words.
Story, learning, fun.
How do you see the future of education in Romania? What about the future of entrepreneurial education for children?
Much has been said on this topic. How it is, how education should be. My comments here would be marginal. So, in short, I think more utility, customization and pleasure of learning is needed.
Entrepreneurial education is diversifying, specializing but remains optional.
What would you say to parents who think they shouldn't talk to their kids about money and business?
We want - we don't want such information becomes part of children's lives from the very moment we say price or money or new television or card. If we don't talk about them, it just means that we don't explain to the little ones what they mean. It should also be known that the subjects of commerce, marketing, finance become interesting and funny if you find the right examples and words.
